7th and 8th Grade Policies and Expectations

Equipment: Notebook/folder, workbooks, worksheets, homework, pencil, pen

Responsibility: Students are responsible for coming to class on time and have the appropriate materials. They are further responsible for learning and studying the material covered in class and any missed classes. Students must make up the assignments given when absent. They are allotted the number of days missed to make up the work.

Homework: Homework must be done COMPLETELY and appropriately to get credit. All that is asked is that the student tries his or her best. Homework cannot be handed in late unless it is due to an absent.

Class Participation: On a daily basis, students will be given participation points. Participation includes coming to class prepared, doing the assigned work, be respectful of others, and raising their hand when asking or answering questions.

Tests/Quizzes/Essays: The majority of tests will be given at the end of each unit. Quizzes will be given throughout the units and mini lessons. Essays count as a test grade. Many times the students’ rough draft and brainstorming (graphic organizers) will equal a quiz grade.
